Fifa a žebříček
Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) je fotbalovou organizací sdružující 207 fotbalových asociací na světě. Mezi její hlavní náplně patří pořádání mistrovství světa. Členy FIFA zatím nejsou Severní Mariany, Tibet (AFC), Západní Sahara (CAF), Kiribati, Marshallovy ostrovy, Mikronésie, Nauru, Niue, Norfolk, Palau, Tuvalu (OFC), Gibraltar, Grónsko a Monako (UEFA).
Žebříček FIFA (FIFA World Ranking) je to pořadí národních týmů zemí, které jsou členy mezinárodní federace fotbalových asociací FIFA.
Žebříček je sestavován již od roku 1993 a aktualizován je zpravidla jednou měsíčně podle výsledků reprezentačních utkání za několik posledních let (dříve 8 let, podle nové metodiky od července 2006 4 roky), přičemž se vedle výsledku utkání bere do úvahy také důležitost utkání (přátelské zápasy mají nejnižší, utkání na mistrovství světa nejvyšší koeficient) a postavení soupeře v žebříčku.
